Mums and kids won’t be put off buying designer children’s clothes from Prada, following the banning of their latest advert.

The international fashion house recently had their latest advert, starring child actress Hailee Steinfeld, taken off the screens after showing ‘dangerous images.’

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) was inundated with complaints from angry parents who branded the advert showing the 14-year-old sitting on a railway track.

The ‘irresponsible’ advert for the labels MiuMiu range showed the actress sitting alone looking upset and crying.

This caused outrage because it was suggestive of youth suicide. The ASA rejected that the advert implied youth suicide but ruled that the image broke industry regulations because it showed a child in an unsafe location.

The young starlet, who was Oscar nominated for her role in the remake of western classic True Grit, is the face of Prada’s sister brand Miu Miu.

Prada Retail UK, responding on behalf of Miu Miu, defended the advertisement saying that it was part of a ‘serious, high-fashion campaign aimed at adult women’.

The company said that the campaign, which was shot by top filmmaker and photographer Bruce Weber, was meant to look like the set of an imaginary film.

Prada also said that it was clear that Hailee Steinfeld "could have easily moved from where she was sitting because she was not restrained in any way".

The advert was allegedly placed only in adult high fashion magazines such as Tatler.

The company also said that Miss Steinfeld was not crying and had not been told to do so, it was just her ‘wistful and thoughtful face’

The ASA said: ‘Because the ad showed Miss Steinfeld, who was 14 years of age only when the photo was shot, in a potentially hazardous situation sitting on a railway track, we concluded the ad was irresponsible and in breach of the Code in showing a child in a hazardous or dangerous situation.”

Rising star Kingston has been snapped looking all suited and booted for Thanksgiving with mum Gwen Stefani, dad Gavin Rossdale and younger brother Zuma.

He is regularly seen out and about the streets of LA, in his usual attire of combat boots and rocker t-shirts, with his famous mother. However, for this Thanksgiving he has smartened up, sporting a cute little bow tie and blazer combination.

The five year old was seen wearing a dark navy blazer paired with jeans and converse shoes. His 42-year-old dad and three year old brother accompanied him for lunch. Bush front man Gavin Rossdale also smartened up for the occasion, wearing a pair of black trousers with a white shirt and beige blazer.

Little Zuma  was rocking the double denim look with combat boots  and wide brimmed chocolate brown velvet hat.

Celebrating the holidays in style, the entire Stefani/Rossdale clan kept their eccentric fashion sense seasonal. Stefani’s little ones Kingston and Zuma are consistently cited as some of the best-dressed toddlers on the Celebrity scene.

The ex-No Doubt singer was seen in a cosy oversized woollen, tartan coat with matching mini skirt and leggings.

The cold L.A weather saw Stefani go for a pair of Vivienne Westwood pirate boots and a satchel from her own clothing brand, harajuku mini kids, for the complete look.

Female fashion icon and rock star, Gwen Stefani has recently launched her own range of designer children's clothes  Harajuku Mini kids.

In collaboration with retailer Target, her collection is inspired by Japanese punk. Her two little boys recently got involved, modeling the range at a show for Target.

While Santa might be frantically running around the shops trying to find the perfect gift, you don’t have to.

With just over a month to go before the big day, we hunt down some of this year’s hottest toys and designer children’s clothes, which will be perfect for a little certain someone you may know.

Funky footwear

These are not just UGG boots, these are naturally Australian EMU style UGG boots. Made with the finest Australian sheepskin and suede, the shoes are set to be the comfiest slipper turned shoes your child will ever wear. We love this Little Creature’s ladybird print boot for girls. The soft sheepskin interior apparently locks away moisture, making it odourless, whilst the durable hardwearing rubber sole means that your little creature can wear them anywhere, anytime.

This particular style is even popular with mini celebrities such as Suri Cruise and Hedi Klum’s daughter. Available in blue with red spots or red with black spots, from £80.

Doggie Doo

Named as this year’s must have gift, the puppy that poops is a must-have for kids. Doggie Doo is a game which involves the toy dog doing a poo (made out of plasticine) with the child having to scoop it up. At least it teaches children to care for their pets…

The Toy Retailers Association annual ‘Dream Toy’ wish list is out and the top 12 are:

  1. Doggie Doo, John Adams, RRP £22.99
  2. Fijit Friends, Mattel, RRP £54.99
  3. Fireman Sam Pontypandy Rescue Set, Character, RRP £29.99
  4. Kidizoom Twist, Vtech, RRP £49.99
  5. LeapPad Explorer, Leapfrog Toys, RRP £79.99
  6. Lets Rock Elmo, Hasbro, RRP £69.99

Just days after former band member Victoria Beckham announced plans to launch her first ever children’s clothing line, Emma Bunton has done the same.

Former Spice Girl, Emma Bunton has announced plans to unveil her first ever designer clothes for kids collection. The ex singer turned radio DJ is following the footsteps of Victoria Beckham into the world of fashion.

Competition will be heating up amongst the ladies as they both take a leap into the world of children’s fashion at the same time.

Emma Bunton is reported to be releasing a 99 piece kids clothing range in collaboration with Argos. The clothing collection will be for both boys and girls aged between newborn and ten year olds. The collection will be hitting the shops in January next year.

The look is practical yet fun with rock and roll inspired prints of funky guitars and skulls for boys. Girls get a more uplifting look with bright colours and bold prints on dresses and t-shirts. This is the first merge of its kind for both the celebrity and the store.

Baby Spice is now creating baby clothes and they are modelled in part by her four-year-old son, Beau Lee Jones.

Emma said, 'As a Mum myself I’m forever searching for fun and fashionable clothes for my boys, that are comfortable and practical too – clothes they really want to wear. “

Boyfriend and father of her two children, Jade Jones, said she was frustrated at the lack of cool baby clothes so is delighted to be able to design her own.

Emily Jacobs, Business Development Manager at Argos says, 'Emma is known and loved for being a stylish, hard working mum so was a natural choice to design this kids collection with us.”

Meanwhile, in the land of Posh and Becks, little Harper Seven is fast becoming a fashion icon and the most watched celebrity in Hollywood. Victoria Beckham is reportedly creating her own children’s fashion label and was recently out-styled by her 4-month year old who was wearing this gorgeous Bonpoint dress.

We love their fun and quirky colours as well as the stunning photography. Check out this ultra cool, polka dot, frilly pink dress, matched with bright yellow heart shaped sunglasses. Perfect for any summer holiday!

AW11

The current collection is available now, hosting a range of warm red hues and soft velvet fabrics. We love this winter teal star Debbie Dress. Inspired by Debbie Harry, the little party dress rocks! The teal colours matched with funky white printed stars and a red shoulder strap make it ideal for fun Christmas parties. Match with wellies and a warm scarf for a casual winter look. Why not match it with a pink rose headband. The timeless headband can be worn with almost any outfit to make it more feminine. The headband would look adorable with the Debbie dress. The rose is made from a net rose and is available from £12.
