Throwing a baby shower party? Follow these tips on how to plan it properly.

The Stork has left the US and is coming over here to bring us Brits the Baby Shower. Baby showers have been raining down across the UK with growing popularity as mums-to-be enjoy the opportunity to be loved and pampered by friends and family.

Why not celebrate the gift of life with a party? But like any good party- it needs to be planned!  What are the rules? Tina Dolder, Creative Director at wedding and events planner Toast Your Event recommends that you treat your guests.

“They arrive laden with prezzies for you and your baby, so make sure they leave with a small token of your happy news, and the fun time they have had at your Baby Shower,” she says.

Follow these tips to creating the Perfect Baby Shower

Invites don’t have to be extended to family members you never hear from or you could invite everyone under the sun. It’s your party so it’s your rules. You could always make a whole day of it by arranging a lunch date with friends then having family and ‘’other halves’ turn for a cocktail evening.

When & Where to Host a Baby Shower

There’s no specific time on when you need to celebrate the fact that you’re becoming a mum. From the moment you find out until the very last trimester – you can plan your party for whenever suits you. Ok now you’re settled on the date the big question is where?  Baby Showers are usually organised over lunch or tea, and usually at the home of the mum to be, but the latest craze is hiring a venue if you really want to go for it.

What Theme Should I Have for My Baby Shower?

You could be really imaginative and make a theme about you and get people to bring gifts that would describe you. Make it fun and playful, you could go for the more traditional girls or boys theme or even make it a guessing game if you don’t want to know the sex.

And remember, if you are attending a baby shower to make sure you take a gift with you. Get some great Baby Shower gift ideas and Designer Baby Clothes at Half Pint Chic.
