On the search for some great mum’s blogs we came across London lass Deborah Lickfett who has set Metropolitan Mum.

The Metropolitan Mum blog is a mixed bag of fun, facts, and the everyday trials of being a mother.  Set up in February 2009, the blog was born out of a soon to be real life ‘responsible’ parent and her need to vent as all pregnant women do! Before turning her hands to blogging, Deborah was an online editor for a youth magazine and previous to that worked in the finance world.

More than just a mummy blog, the Metropolitan Mum offers readers the chance to escapes babies for a bit, as she also blogs about fashion, food, family issues, travelling and London life.

The inspiration for a mum blog comes from the musings of her 2 year old daughter ‘Little L’

The popular blog has taken the UK by storm and over its 2 year lifespan it has already been much celebrated by The Vanessa Show and featured in The Times.

Deborah’s witty and amusing take on life is a great read. Not only is she informative but  fun, recently her take on the royal wedding was displayed with a collection of photographs with dolls!

The website features categories from weaning to gardening and work. There is something for everyone on this site. The London section comments on bars and restaurants to go to in London as well as clubs and activities.

The busy bee has just finished writing a book and also blogs about how to write a book.

Her fashion section is less about designer children’s clothes, but certainly looks at some gorgeous shoes and online shopping! Blogs, books and shopping , what more could a mum want!
